The new white Samsung Genio Touch has launched to capture the youth market of mobile phones. With its small size, cool applications and style factor, the Samsung Genio white edition has managed to create ripple among the mobile users.
Design -This handset is nice and small with dimensions of 103 x 57 x 12.4 mm. It is palm and pocket friendly. It comes in four different colours- Jamaican yellow, festival orange, minimal white and cupid pink. You can customize the phone by changing the battery panel as you wish.
Display- This model’s touch screen display measures 2.8 inches and has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.
User Interface -It makes use of Samsung’s famed TouchWiz interface. This technology guarantees you a great touch screen experience with kinetic scrolling and easy zoom. You just have to touch an image to zoom it to twice its size. There are three home screens which you can customize with widgets and applications of your choice. The Genio Touch comes with 27 preloaded widgets including ones to remind you of your diet and to stave off smoking. You can download and add more widgets.
Smart Unlock – This feature provided added security to your handset. There are three kinds of unlock features- simply unlock, unlock and speed dial or unlock and run an application.
Memory – The phone has an inbuilt memory of 50MB. You can expand the memory to 8 GB using a micro SD card.
Messaging – The phone supports both SMS and MMS. Typing using the alpha numeric keyboard may be difficult for those exposed to the QWERTY keyboard. You can increase the size of the font as you wish.
Camera- The 2 mega pixel camera with Panorama Shot and Smile Detection is quite good and gives you clear images. There is no auto focus although there is a 2X digital zoom. Video recording is also possible.
Multimedia- It is perfect for people who enjoy music while on the go. The music player supports files in popular formats like MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC++, and WMA. There is a Find Music feature which lets you record portions of songs you like and find out the artist, album and genre.
Internet connectivity- This is a 2.5 G model with EDGE compatibility and also uses the Net Front browser to open web pages.
Social Networking -The Genio Touch is simply perfect for those who like to stay updated and in touch with their friends while on the move. You get easy access to sites like Facebook,
My Space, YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, Friendster and Photobucket. You can also easily upload videos, images etc onto these sites and share them with friends. Another cool application is the pop up Social Networking Service (SNS). You can use this to stay updated with the latest messages, comments, tweets etc on Facebook, Twitter and My Space.
Other cool features – This model also sports options like FM radio with RDS and RSS reader, memo, task list, polyphonic ring tones, in built dictionary, Picsel viewer, World Time and much more.
