How do you check your minutes if you have a cingular sim card in a unlocked t-mobile phone?

My service is still cingular. I tried the cingular way by typing 777 and *Min# and the t-mobile way #999#. Any suggestions? thanks
To zak: I know i can do that, but what is a quicker way so that i don’t have to call someone. Such a hassle and a waste of minutes. DUH!!

I have cingular and the number I use is *646# try that
